Sunflower flowerscape oil painting fingerpainting impressionist Van Gogh style by Saskia Skoric

Sunflower Sunshine

This is the latest painting, finished this week. SUNFLOWER SUNSHINE. I’m happy with my progress with this technique of finger painting, it’s still very new to me. It’s an enjoyable process and I’m becoming freer with the way I apply the paint. When I used acrylic paints I was very much obsessed with making the image look very realistic, and prided myself in this. However, I’ve always admired impressionist paintings where there was an uncompromising amount of paint used, making the painting gloriously textured and rich in colour. Slowly, I am beginning to achieve my goal, and hopefully in the near future I will be able to show my work in my own exhibition or have some artworks displayed in a local gallery, who knows!
